A: Not sure. I have 2 fluorescents nearby. It's cooler than the 'warm white' (not sure exact K, prob: 2700 or 3000) but warmer than the 5000 K fluorescent "daylight" - so prob around 4000 K? Not as starkly cool as I was afraid they'd be.

A: No, it does not get hot. In fact, it gives off very little heat (it will feel warm to the touch, but not enough to burn or start a fire).
