A:  The shelf itself is 10 inches deep but there is 2 inches between the lip of the shelf and the inside of the door, so you can put an 11 7/8" deep item on the shelf and close the door.

A:  The cabinets have a flange on all four sides of the their bottoms that would allow them easily to sit on a horizontal surface or another cabinet. The only issue is that the door is the same height as the cabinet, so the doors may rub any cabinet above or below UNLESS you put maybe an 1/8" spacer between the units.

A:  Yes, they're MATTE black. If you've seen other Husky "matte black" cabinets or benches, you know what they look like. Otherwise, I'd call them low gloss. Anyway, I think the finish is very good.

A:  They're recessed about 1.5". Plenty of room for lights to be installed.
