A:  Hello SET, The door has a trim area allowance of 1/4" from all sides. This only yields a 1/2" in height. To get to 79" would exceed that and yes, likely reveal some of the hollow interior. I hope this helps. Cheers, Chris

A:  Yes - I have on all of mine. Just drill the hole, but need to make sure you use a knob that has a threaded screw that goes through the depth of this, and then use locking washer / nut on the back to hold in place.
