This normally indicates debris has gone through your water line and has gotten stuck in the fill valve. We would suggest flushing out the fill valve as this will most likely eliminate this problem. The toilet can be adequately installed with in the range of 1/4" below to 1/4" above. Unfortunately, we do not recommend installing a Kohler toilet with a 3/4" high flange. A:  That is not normal. It sounds like what you are describing is the tank is adding a little bit of water every so often because the water is overflowing into the spillway or leaking out of the bowl and triggering the tank to refill. It may be an improper seal in the flapper due to a faulty flapper or improper installation. Try thoroughly cleaning the flapper and the seal around it in hopes that takes care of it. Also push down on the flapper ring/seat to be sure it is completely seated in the bottom of the tank and slightly wiggle the tank to be sure it is set. If that doesn't work, you may want to go back to the installer and see if they guarantee their work and are willing to fix the problem.
