Q:Can you place it against the wall or does it need to be 4-6 inches away from it?

A:  It is recommended to place the purifier on a flat, stable surface with the display facing up. Please allow at least 15 in / 38 cm of clearance on all sides of the purifier and keep away from anything that would block airflow, such as curtains.
