Q:My house basement is painted concrete, should i prime anyway, since basement is very humid should i use a commercial or residential flooring type?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Sonny! There are three methods of installation suitable for the LifeProof Travertine Plank sheet vinyl flooring. The installation method used is dependent upon the day-to-day activities and the overall floor dimensions. Please see the Info and Guides section on the product page for a downloadable PDF of the Installation Guide for subfloor requirements. If your basement is humid, you should check the moisture levels. Moisture levels at the time of installation of concrete slabs during and after installation must be 5 lbs. or less per 1000 square feet per 24 hours using an anhydrous calcium chloride test according to ASTM F-1869, and pH must be between 5 and 9; or, if using ASTM F-2170 In-Situ Probes should be less than 75% relative humidity. The floor should be primed if needed with IVC FLEX -PRIM Acrylic Latex Primer. Thank you for your interest in LifeProof. - Shanna

Q:I too, am confused as to how to order this. In one place it says to order by yards. In the title, it says to order by custom length. In another, it calculates the room size for you and how many yards you need. So, what is the correct answer? I get it's 12 feet wide. So do you order your length measurement in feet and you would get 12 feet wide by 7 feet? Or calculate your room size and divide by 9 which is square yards and order that amount? Makes no sense! I need to do a 5 wide by 7 foot bathroom. The calculation said I need 4 square yards to cover 36 feet but in another place it says 5 yard minimum. This is not sold in any stores near me.

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello! Please contact your local Home Depot flooring specialist for assistance with ordering. To get one piece of sheet vinyl for your 5 foot wide x 7 foot long space, without having a seam, you will need to order 84 square feet (10 square yards). The sheet vinyl (by default) is sold in a 12 foot wide width. On the product page, enter the room measurements of 12 feet for the width and 7 feet for the length in the calculator boxes. You will receive a piece of sheet vinyl that will be 12 feet wide by 7 feet long. (The plank pattern runs the length of the sheet vinyl.) You will then need to trim that piece to fit your 5 x 7 space. To be absolutely sure, you may wish to discuss the installation space with your Home Depot flooring expert who can assist you with making sure you order enough flooring for your room(s). Q:I would like a 10 x 12 foot sheet. I want it to come in 1 piece. Reading reviews and don't want it adjusted to 2 pieces due to square footage or order less units than I'm suppose to because 1 isn't equal to 12 inches/1 foot. I want one 10x12 foot piece. What should I put in for item quantity when I order? thank you much
