Q:Is this weather stripping made to slid in a track on aluminum windows and doors or is it just a stick on stripping?

Answer This Question
A: This stripping might be able to be used either way depending on the width of your track. If using for a track, you would not have to peel the cover off of the adhesive surface.

A: Yes. it does have an adhesive backing if you choose to peel off the thin paper covering the adhesive. I used this product on aluminum windows where I needed to slide the felt strip into a channel. It worked perfectly.

A: It depends on the type of window. I need some for mine and it slides in a crevice The type I need is a strip with a fuzzy type of edging on it , What you should do is, if you have a piece of it, go to Home Depot and see if you can find the same kind.Hope you have good lock.

A: Yes. And be sure to securely press the adhesive side to the clean dry surface. I had one spot loose, it twisted and stuck to the bottom of the window, and pulled the stripping loose. I had to reinstall a new piece.

Q:What is this made of? My old windows have a fuzzy kind of weather stripping on them that are just disintegrating with age so I need to find something to replace them and foam doesn't seem dense enough.

A: This seems to be some sort of felt like plastic similar to very short brush bristles.
by|Nov 12, 2020
A: It is felt-like. Perhaps the item description mentions the fibers. It is not foam like your old weatherstripping.

A: I can't answer your question but, I have the same fuzzy stripping disintegrating in my windows as well. Were you able to find something to replace it? Thank You.
by|Feb 2, 2021
A: It's made with synthetic felt. It can replace the "fuzzy" weather stripping, but be sure to measure you existing weather stripping before purchasing this to make sure it's matches.
