The Moen model #82510, has ½” IPS(threaded) and CC(Solder) connections which gives the installer more options when connecting it to your homes plumbing/water lines. The trim included with this kit will only work with a Moen Posi-Temp rough-in valve. The handle for a Moen Posi-Temp Valve operates by rotation only. If your current shower valve rotates only to turn the water on, you will not need to change the rough-in valve. Our Moentrol and Standard valves operate by pulling out the handle to turn on the water. If your handle pulls out, this trim will not work and you will need to change the rough-in valve. However, a valve that operates by push/pull may be able to accept different trim.
