A: Everything I have seen would indicate yes on compatible. It will however be a much slower charging time than the more up to date chargers for the LXT batteries. My humble suggestion would be to buy another Makita tool with the charger as the Makita line has been fantastic for my use for several years.
A: If the tool and the battery both have the star or yellow on them they will will work together.
A: YES The DC18RC replaces the DC18RA. A is teale. C is black and more compact. BDF452 was replaced by the XPH03Z. The DC18RA is still up on the Home Depot site, though N/A. You can still download the use and care manual from the Home Depot product page for the DC18RA. There are some informative Q & A's on the page about your A charger. Check out the one about the 193949-2 adaptor! I have Makita tools from the 1970's and Makita has always kept me powered up!
A: The DC18RA offers several advantages for cordless tool users. ... The result is a faster battery charging cycle which means less downtime: the DC18RA will charge an 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion battery (model BL1830) in only 30-minutes, and an 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion battery (model BL1815) in only 15-minutes.
A: Thank you for your question. The BL1850B-2 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk is compatible with the entire line of Makita 18V LXT Tools and Accessories which includes BDF452 and DC18RA.
A: I suspect this depends more on the charger than on the batteries. I routinely leave mine on the charger over night when they need a charge and have never noticed an issue. For what it's worth I have the dual port Makita Charger.
A: NO !! Power will be cut off when 100% charging level is reached.
A: Thank you for your question. No, the BL1850B-2 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk batteries cannot be overcharged when used with Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion chargers.
A: No, they will not overcharge if left on the charger.
A: My understanding, is the batteries are chip protected, plus once the batteries reach full charge, the charger stops its cycle. Ive left batteries on charger for a couple days without dire consequences.
A: Thank you for your question. All Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion batteries are compatible with all Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion battery chargers. For additional questions, call the Makita Call Center during business hours at (800)4-MAKITA, they’re based in Buford, GA and are ready to help.
A: Yes. we have been able to charge all our batteries on same chargers. Interchange them all the time with no issues.
A: I'm sure you can
A: Yes you can.
A: Yes I’m using 5amp on my charger but there is a tab on the battery that I had to cut off to use the 5amp on my tools.
A: Yes
A: Thank you for your question. The current line up of Makita 8V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries are all equipped with Integrated L.E.D. battery charge level indicator allows user to monitor battery charge. A: Get the 5.0AH mine have the "fuel gauge" if they're cheaper that's great. I paid $200 for mine a couple years back. The 5's are heavier but last longer
A: The 5.0 AH battery should have a fuel gauge too, some times it just the company selling them. Or it is makita pricing.
A: Hey Nick, I have 4 amp batteries, BL1840 without charge indicator (discontinued) and BL1840B with the indicator and test button. Yes the newest stuff costs more. Makita is awesome about providing replacement batteries for older tools, and can be ordered through Home Depot. HD ordered 9 volt stick batteries for my Makita tools made in the late 1970's. (still running great) The cordless tools are phasing into "brushless" models which leaves some good deals on great tools. I recently picked up a Makita brush motor recipro saw at Home Depot at a great price, and it is a beast! It's all good stuff!
A: Shows you the level of charge left on the battery.
A: Thank you for your question. Makita created the 18V Lithium-Ion cordless tool category in 2005, and today it is the world’s largest 18V cordless tool line-up. The BL1850B-2 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk was launched in 2016.
A: Yes, the charger you are using for your 3.0 Ah Makita battery will also charge your 5.0 Ah batteries.
A: These batteries do not come with the charger however all of the Makita Rapid Chargers will charge these batteries.
A: Thank you for your question. All Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion batteries can be charged on any Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion chargers.
A: As long as it is the Makita 18 Volt LXT battery system…YES
A: They are not the same but they should charge the batteries
A: yes
A: you can use them but will run out of power faster.
A: Dennis The 2 Ah battery will not run that saw very long. Comparing the rest is proportional between run time and charge time. A 3 Ah battery takes 30 minutes to charge. A 4 Ah battery takes 40 minutes to charge and has a run time 35% longer than a 3 Ah. 5 Ah has a charge time of 45 Minutes and runs 65% longer than 3 Ah. 6 Ah takes 55 minutes to charge but lasts 100% longer than the 3 Ah. You will find the sweet spot for the time between changing out batteries. Try it out with what you have, you can judge from there. YOU NEED TO RUN THEM IN PAIRS OF THE SAME Ah FOR 36 VOLT TOOLS.
A: Buying the Makita 5.0 Lithium batteries for any one of your power tools is the best way to go for longer usage and even more power supplied to make sure your work is completed without having to stop and recharge a less 2.0 battery. Enjoy and feel the power of 5.0 the way that I do and Thanks for asking your questions. From : Paul Carrillo, the Pro Engineer
A: You might be able to use the lower rated (3ah) batteries with the unit, but will get better run time with the 5ah units (65% according to mfg data for the saw.)
A: 2,0 batteries are too small for the chainsaw, mixing capacity of the batteries is not a good idea even if they wood work.
A: Thank you for your question. The Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion batteries are compatible with the entire line of Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion and 18V X2 (36V) LXT® Lithium-Ion tools. Larger Ah batteries will provide longer run time.
A: As far as I know, 18v Makita batteries with the yellow connectors are interchangable. I bought The 5.0 AH 18V batteries and I am Very Pleased with them. I have been used them this summer in a Makita Impact Driver. I put up 8 8 foot sections of fence using these batteries and only had to change them once. The second battery is still half charged according to the indicator on yhe battery. With the original 2.0 AH battery, I got about 2 and a half hours use out of each battery. I HIGHLY Recommend These Batteries..
A: The 5.0 ah are the unit of electrical charge.
A: Ah is an abbreviation for ampere-hour, or amp-hour. This the total amount of charge a battery can deliver in one hour. So the higher number (5.0) the longer the charge will last. Good luck
A: Thank you for your question. Ah indicates Amp Hours which is a unit of electrical charge. Higher Ah batteries provide longer run time to your Makita LXT® Lithium-Ion tools.
A: Amp Hour
A: ah stands for Amp Hours. In the case on the 5.0 ah mean it will take 50 min to chrage the battery
A: Amp / Hour rating example: 5 Amp draw for 1 Hour -or- 1 Amp draw for 5 Hours. You could graph the in between numbers but you get the idea. This is true for any Amp / Hour rating. In the smaller stuff you'll see Milliamp / Hour or one thousandth of an amp. eg: "AA" battery has about 2500 mA - Hr.
A: Ah stands for Ampere hour and represents the amount of stored energy in the battery. The higher the number, the more power available.
A: Most of the makita tools come without the batteries unless you buy it in a kit. I know it's a bummer because sometimes the batteries cost more then the tool.
A: Usually in the description of the item that you bought, it will say if batteries are included. I bought the two pack of batteries for extra when doing jobs that need power all day without the lag time of charging the battery. My package came with one battery for all the tools.
A: Apparently you purchased a bare tool only version of the drill. It is common to add different tools to our collection when we already have the batteries and just switch them between tools. If you purchase the 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion High Capacity Battery Pack 5.0Ah with LED Charge Level Indicator (2-Pack) you will them be able to grow your XLT tools with other options. Don't forget to order the charger. If you feel you may not add any additional tools I would recommend returning the tool you have and purchase the lit with the tool you want including the charger and battery it would be less expensive that buying all individually. Hope that helps.
A: Take it back and explain what happen and if they will not refund you take business elsewhere

A: I no longer have any of the DC18RA chargers. I now have the newer double chargers or the DC18RC (black) charger. Although it should be able to charge the 5.0 AH batteries, I do not know if Makita updated any of the circuitry in the newer chargers to optimize charging the higher AH batteries. This may be a question for a tech at a Makita repair center. Wish I could help more.
A: Thank you for your question. Makita USA Corded Chargers are rated for US standard 120V outlets and are not recommended to be used on any other voltages.
A: Yes that well work just fine.
A: yes. It takes about 45 min when the battery is drained whereas the DC18RD takes about 25 min
A: No.
