A: Home Depot carries the 2 pack right now. You need to look on an end cap where the 36V Makita tools are. Look for the new Compound Miter Saw that requires 2-5.0 AH batteries. Cost-$159.00

A: What works for me is just making sure the batteries or charger are Makita 18 Volt "LXT"...
The charger is what is different. As you know yours is made for 220 Volt 50 Hz current in England. Makita offers one that works on 12 Volt DC from a vehicle DC18SE. My DC18RC is 120 Volt 50 - 60 Hz, so I could use it over there with a step down transformer and not have to mess around with an expensive inverter to change the frequency… Not all tools are offered in all countries. Good Luck!

A: We recommend you contact your local Makita retailer in England to purchase Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0 Battery (2-Pack). For more information on Makita UK go to www.makitauk.com.

A: Take the battery off, look on the bottom of the drill and if you see a star embossed, the drill is star rated and will take star rated batteries. The top of this battery also has a star embossed into it. There is a small tab on the non-star drills that prevents the battery from sliding on. The tab can be cut away and the battery will function, but without the star features- over discharge, overheating, etc. Don't know if it will hurt anything if used this way. Don't know if non-star batteries are available and can't tell from the Home Depot site.

A: Basically this answer should be from either Makita or Homedepot. If you check Makita products online, deals are normally during Thanksgive, Christmas and new year.
