A:  I do not see the hammer drive setting on mine. I did not buy the compact for hammer setting only for compactness, RPMs, and price. The torque settings go up to 21 and then after that it will not torque out on setting "- -" which is what I have been using to get through tough metals w/ stepper bits daily. It's a slower drill on the last few seconds but efficient and controlled. If you are looking for FAST and Powerful torque go with the standard with also has the hammer drill or get hammer drill separately for reduced price. But in my opinion having both options on one power drill is better and reduces battery needs. I you are paying over $109 for compact it's too much, and hammer drive only should also be under $99, especially during the holidays. The standard version w/ hammer setting, which I have used for years via company expense, is definitely worth it's price. But it drains battery faster and is much heavier.

A:  The dont have a hammer settings but the way a use it kind a like hammer already

A:  It's more of a clutch drive setting not an impact driver. Settings range from 2 to 18 on the strength of drive needed. Ex : I use a setting of 2-3 for screwing locksets on doors, or 16-18 for 3 inch wood or deck screws. It will drive almost any type screw except Tap-Con concrete screws. Best to use a quality Impact screw gun with nut driver attachment
