Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question, Julie. In order to use the Masonite 36 in. x 80 in. 4 Panel Winslow Primed White Hollow-Core Composite Bi-fold Interior Door, the Rough Opening in that area would need to be 36 inches wide by 80.75 inches high. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at helpline@masonite.com. Sincerely, Masonite

Q:I am seeing two different answers. What is the exact width measurement of the 36" two bifold door? Is it 35.5" wide?

Answer This Question
A: Hello GWOOT the bifold are built undersized to allow room for track and pivots. on a 36x80 this will be 1 3/4 less in height and 1/4 per panel smaller to allow room for door to pivot. This takes 1/8 of each side of the panel. Your measurement is correct for the width 35.5. The bifold woul need an opening of 36"x80.75".
