A: The metal deflector plate will allow you to direct the water downward, if you wish. The diffuser piece, which resembles a screw, will scatter the stream, which creates a softer watering pattern.

A: in my experience 20 psi will let the water flow through the sprinkler but it will not rotate. I've got 40 psi at the outdoor spigot and while the water flows it is not enough to make the sprinkler rotate as advertised

A: The nozzles may be plugged up. You may want to remove the end plug from the sprinkler and poke the plastic "needle" through the nozzles. You can also submerge the sprinkler in a 50/50 vinegar/water solution.

A: Check the adjusting screw on the sprinkler head-turning it as if tightening makes spray pattern, opening it makes stream more straight.
