Q:The “protective” glue that is put on these tiles is extremely thin and doesnt come off with water. I have to sit here and scrape 3 rows of glue off each tile? How is this more cost effective than a thin sheet of paper? This is ridiculous and I wont be using these tiles ever again. Poor quality for an expensive tile.

Answer This Question
A: Hi! We do want to clarify for you and future customers that the protective glue mentioned is wax that is applied between pieces to prevent scratching or chipping during transit. This protective coating is designed to be easily removed with a mild non-acidic cleaning agent and light scrubbing. If needed, rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer can also help remove stubborn wax. We stand behind the quality of our products and appreciate your feedback. If you have any further questions please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

Q:How uniform and precise is this tile manufactured? I am wondering if it's possible to install with very thin grout lines, or if there is too much imperfection in the tiles to allow for that.
How thin of grout lines is this tile capable of pulling off?

Answer This Question
A: There are some imperfections the tiles are not manufactured precise sizing but the floor either way looks beautiful laid out. The grout lines some are small some are big the reason being that the tiles are not manufactured perfectly.
by|Jul 23, 2020
A: Hi! We suggest using a 1/4" grout line to accommodate any variation in size or the subsurface and to allow movement. Dependent on how level your subfloor is, the smallest grout joint that we would suggest would be 3/16”. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

Q:Trying to compare this product with #FCD10BTX it is half the price and the size of tile is about 9X10. How does the color compare? This is Matte Nero and the cheaper tile is Black. If you drop anything heavy on either of these tiles is it going to chip and will you see white underneath?

Answer This Question
A: Hi! Though our Hexatile Matte Nero and our Textile Hex Black have a similar color appearance, our Textile Hex Black has more of a darker black color tone. Both of these products are highly durable and once installed properly will provide a beautiful and long-lasting surface for your space. They are made from durable, dense white-body porcelain so although it is highly resilient, the color does not go all the way through. All tile is susceptible to chipping by impacts from heavy objects, particularly so if at a condensed point. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

Q:I read the reviews. Before ordering/purchasing, I'd like to know if there an easy way to remove the white "wax" like film that's applied to these tiles (apparently to protect them when shipping)? What's the manufacturer's recommendation on easiest/best way to remove it?

A: Hi! Aside from soap and water, we also recommend using a neutral, non-acidic cleaner that is safe for everyday cleaning. A product that would fit into this category would be the Custom Building Products Grout and Tile Cleaner, which can found at the following link https://thd.co/2TMZvKx. Q:Does this white match the glossy white in the Merola metro hex and subway
tiles?
by|Jul 13, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Good Afternoon,
While the Hexatile Glossy Blanco is from a different factory and is not intended to coordinate with the Metro items, it offers a similar white glaze to the Metro products, so they could complement each other nicely. Being as coordinating is a matter of personal preference, it is always best for you to decide for yourself whether or not they can be used together. The Metro Hex Glossy White https://thd.co/2tQa1Va is intended to coordinate with the Metro Subway Glossy White https://thd.co/2umvOa8, but since they are manufactured at different times, the whites may not match exactly. We offer samples of these items adhered to 4.5” x 5” sample cards, offering a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole tile. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glass, glazed tile and stone. The actual material received may vary from this sample. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. If you have any further questions or want more information about ordering samples, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Q:This company also makes a white marble look 8" porcelain hex tile. Can u let me know if HD will be offering it? Thx

Answer This Question
A: Hi Rick,
The manufacturer of this product does not offer this product in a marble hex. We offer a couple of white marble tiles, but none that are an 8” hexagon shape, only smaller (1” or 2”) http://thd.co/1MIIEfA. Here is a link to our other marble look tiles http://thd.co/1RbbHPm. There is a chance that other distributors could potentially offer this as an option in the future. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what other distributors that sell through Home Depot are planning to be able to give you a more accurate response. You can try to get in touch with these other companies to see if they are looking to make this an option, or reach out to Home Depot directly. Sorry we could not offer what you are looking for, but we wish you the best with your home improvement project. If you have any further questions, please call our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this was helpful!
