A: It would be better to drill a 3/8 hole through the wood first and then drill with this bit. Remember you need a hammer drill to use this bit effectively.

A: Yes. The hole in the wood might not be very pretty. You might consider drilling most of the way through the board first with a conventional bit, and then switching to the masonry bit to finish the board and do the concrete. The board will not harm the masonry bit.

A: I wouldn't as it's designed for concrete. Use an appropriate wood drill bit until you're through the board then switch to the concrete drill bit.

A: I used mine in a KOBALT 1/2" hammer drill, but it should work in any similar size drill. While it will probably fit in a 3/8 chuck, you need the power of a 1/2" drill to effectively drill concrete with it.

A: No. You must drill the steel first with a normal drill bit. Then mark the wall and use this masonary bit.

A: No…I believe that bit is ceramic or concrete only….I wud use a bit that is rated for both metal & stone, or just use 2 different bits, one for metal & one for stone

A: Depends on your drill. If you have an adequate drill it will flow through it like butter. Don’t go cheap on the drill.

A: The bit is for drilling masonry and concrete, not steel. It is better to first drill the steel hole with a hi-speed carbon steel bit. Remember to set the drill on the regular drilling setting Then proceed to drill the concrete with this bit with the drill on 'Hammer."
