The difference is that our M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless PEX Expansion Tool Kit with (2) 1.5 Ah Batteries, (3) Expansion Heads and Hard Case (2474-22) is designed specifically for Pex A Expansion tubing; whereas our M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless ProPEX Expansion Tool Kit with (2) 1.5Ah Batteries, (3) Expansion Heads and Hard Case (2432-22) is designed specifically for Uponor ProPEX.

A:  I did not look at it for the price since I needed both tools. I needed it at the time because of the work I was doing. It is not cheap but it is affordable and I decided to buy both. All of my 12v Milwaukee tools have lasted me for years and the batteries have lasted as long as the tools have so I am happy with the product. I hope that helps.

A:  UPONOR PEX pipe is PEX-A type pipe. All PEX-A pipe, regardless of manufacturer, can be fastened by cold expansion which allows the fluted end of a Pro-pex fitting to be inserted into the pipe/extension ring combination. DO NOT use PEX-B with this tool. PEX-B pipe cannot be expanded and instead the connection is made with crimp rings and a crimp ring tool. Please note that the fittings for PEX-A and PEX-B are not the same and cannot be used interchangeably.

A:  This tool is for use with PEX type A tubing. Uponor makes good compatible fittings for this tubing. There may be other suppliers for PEX A fittings, check with your distributor.

A:  No. Other brands crimp on. Uponor expands the pipe and together with a plastic band contracts onto the connections. The pipe plastics are not formulated to do this from other brands.

A:  Excellent tool! Will save you from very sore shoulders over using the manual expander tool. Heads are for 1/2", 3/4", and 1" PEX-A type pipe and fittings. Make sure you use PEX type 'A' pipe and fittings with this tool. Works well in tight spaces, too, and the batteries last a long time and recharge quickly. Excellent choice, you won't regret it!
