A: Lol....no
A: Absolutely not
A: LOL no way. This tool only cuts plastic pipe. Get a Rigid Model 150 copper cutter.
A: No, it is designed to cut PVC only.
A: No
A: Get a M12 reciprocating hacksaw for pruning trees.
A: Yes! That is the only reason I bought it. It is much more powerful that lightweight cordless pruners. I have 5 acres of woods, and use this tool for making branches easier for my chipper/shredder to digest.
A: i imagine it can but i do not recommend it as any splinters or sap (especially dry wood) may get the blade stuck. not to mention that the blade may dull faster than expected
A: Hello Wngan, we do not recommend using the Milwaukee M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless PVC Pipe Shear to cut down a tree branch.
A: No, I purchased mine for my own personel use while I was completely re-plumbing my house.
A: Individual stores may. You will have to check with your local Home Depot Rental Center.
A: Doubtful
A: Depending on location's your best bet is to call the tool rental department and check your self.
A: Hi Steve, I would think so. But not 100% sure. You could call your local Home Depot, and ask to be sure.
A: no
A: Yes it will work as a pruner as long as the branch isnt bigger then 2in in size
A: Yes! Ignore the naysayers. This thing is a pruning brute, and that's exactly what I bought it for. The other cordless pruners available have about half the power this tool does. It's not quite as quick as cordless pruners, but it will cut much bigger branches. Beware, it's heavy, but it's built like a tank!
A: Not at all, it has te capacity to cut PVC up to 2", which is hollow and maleable. Machine force is calibrated for this task. Branches are hard core and fiber, blade may be damage by unevenness. I do not recommended.
A: I have used mine as such. ......
A: Not what it is designed for, but yes it would cut through 1-inch inch soft green wood without a problem, it is designed to cut 2 inch HOLLOW pvc pie so if you are hoping for something to cut solid oak branches more than a thumb's thickness then absolutely not . I would say though that if you are considering it for that purpose it is pretty heavy, and would not be very maneuverable between branches, and would crush at the cuts impeding plant growth and healing.
A: It could, but I wouldn't recommend it.
A: Great deal for the combo
A: I did not look at it for the price since I needed both tools. I needed it at the time because of the work I was doing. It is not cheap but it is affordable and I decided to buy both. All of my 12v Milwaukee tools have lasted me for years and the batteries have lasted as long as the tools have so I am happy with the product. I hope that helps.
A: Hi dtsdig, I have included the product page for the M12 PVC Pipe Shear Model # 2470-20 below. There you will find the current price and details. I hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you for shopping Homedepot.com. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-PVC-Pipe-Shear-Tool-Only-2470-20/202196528
A: UPONOR PEX pipe is PEX-A type pipe. All PEX-A pipe, regardless of manufacturer, can be fastened by cold expansion which allows the fluted end of a Pro-pex fitting to be inserted into the pipe/extension ring combination. DO NOT use PEX-B with this tool. PEX-B pipe cannot be expanded and instead the connection is made with crimp rings and a crimp ring tool. Please note that the fittings for PEX-A and PEX-B are not the same and cannot be used interchangeably.
A: This tool is for use with PEX type A tubing. Uponor makes good compatible fittings for this tubing. There may be other suppliers for PEX A fittings, check with your distributor.
A: No. Other brands crimp on. Uponor expands the pipe and together with a plastic band contracts onto the connections. The pipe plastics are not formulated to do this from other brands.
A: I honestly dont know, but you can call the manufacturer of the item. Milwaukee Tool. The contact is 1-800-SAWDUST (1-800-729-3878) or 1-800-638-9582. And for customer Service, you can call 1-800-729-3878
A: This works with expansion Pex.
A: Excellent tool! Will save you from very sore shoulders over using the manual expander tool. Heads are for 1/2", 3/4", and 1" PEX-A type pipe and fittings. Make sure you use PEX type 'A' pipe and fittings with this tool. Works well in tight spaces, too, and the batteries last a long time and recharge quickly. Excellent choice, you won't regret it!
A: 1/2 inch, 3/4 & 1 inch.
A: 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”.
A: 3/8, 1/2, & 3/4”
A: 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch
A: No. It’s made for pex.
A: No
A: You would need to use an adapter fitting to convert from copper pipe to the Pex.
A: No, plastic pex only.
A: No, this is made for Uponor(wirsbo) AquaPex tubing and fittings.
A: No. This ProPex Expension Tool is only for use with WIRSBO PROPEX PEX tubing with expansion rings and fittings.
A: I don’t believe so. Designed for use with Uponor Pro Aqua PEX. You need to contact other manufacturer about it in terms of installation and warranty of their products.
A: i dont kn ow. i only used the propex fittings and tubing.
A: The tools expansion very good
A: Yes, this tool works with Pex-A with a diameter of 3/8" to 1".
A: All PEX-A pipe can be cold expanded and the connections are made with an expansion tool such as this one or a manual expansion tool in combination with an expansion ring. PEX-B pipe cannot be expanded and connections are made with crimp rings and a crimp tool. If you needed a comment from Milwaukee please contact their customer service department directly.
A: Yes. Great tool, well built.
A: This tool is used with Pex expansion fittings. From what I have read Apollo Expansion Pex is Pex-A. Just make sure you use it with the Apollo Pex-A expansion sleeve/ring.
A: No it is only expands 1/2” 3/4” 1”
A: I would not recommend using larger heads on this tool. I don't think it has enough power to fully expand them. I find it struggles at times on 1". But I do believe the larger will physically fit it.
A: Expansion heads from 3/8” through 1” are available for use with this expansion tool.
A: Yes, there are bigger heads available. I bought one to work with 1" pipe and it worked just fine. I already had the 1" head (I had gotten with a manual expander before I realized how hard that was to use) when I found the M12 at Home depot---worth every penny! The 1" head fit just like the other two in the kit. Home Depot probably sells the bigger heads, too.
A: no, max capacity is 1 inch
A: YES LOOK FOR OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES AT MILWAUKEE
A: Tool does 3/8 to 1 inch
