A:  The light can be mounted to the wall or ceiling. If mounted on the wall it will reduce the sensor range from 365 degrees to 140 degrees. Thanks!

Q:Is it possible to attach this to a wall or ceiling with something like 3M Command strips without the light falling off?

A:  That might work, but remember that 4 C cells are heavy so try with as many adhesive strips as possible.

A:  I would'nt think it would be a problem it's not heavy at all

                by|Nov 23, 2020

A:  I have used Velcro strips to hold similar (but smaller) lights to the wall to light step-up areas. It's worked marginally well, but eventually the side of the Velcro that has adhesive and adheres to the wall gives out. One problem with this approach is you have to occasionally open the unit to replace the batteries, which puts an additional side stress to the fastening and hastens the failures. My approach now is to use screw anchors to hold the back in place. I'm only using them in locations where spackling over a hole if necessary is inconspicuous or can be camouflaged. Hint - take the back unit you'll be fastening to the wall and put some small bolts through the mounting holes, held in place in the back temporarily with nuts. Press the plate against the wall or ceiling in its planned location and the bolts will leave a mark on the surface, which becomes your pattern for locating the screw anchors.

A:  Yes. That's what I did because I'm a renter and the old man lives too far to come out for maintenance. Just use two sets where there aren't seams . Cut to size and place on the base after you screw the halves together. Use the heavy duty 3M Command strips for large pictures. They're long and black and they hold more weight. Just a dollar more about 8 bucks. Mine hasn't fallen on my neighbors' heads so it's good! Neighbor downstairs moved out and turned off her electricity and you guessed it! The hallway lights are connected to her bill!!!

A:  I would say no. With the weight of the light and changing of the batteries The tape would not hold the mounting plate. I thought that too when I decided to mount it in a closet. I used the mounting screws and it s perfect !

Q:Had this in a closet for about 3 months with no issues. Now all of a sudden the light goes on and off by itself when no motion is anywhere near it. Anybody know what could be wrong?

A:  This has not yet happened to me, but I wonder if the battery is low and it does this to signal the need for a battery change. Secondly, you might try to open it up to see if you have a spider or other insect in there that might be triggering it intermittently.

A:  I have found this product to work exactly as the advertising says it does. I installed two of them in my storage shed and the installation was easy and they provide excellent lighting.

A:  Check to see if anything might be sticking out near the field of motion - I had mine in my closet in my craft room and because the closet is really tall, I had wreaths stored on the doorway wall up high near the field of motion "beam". It would take the light a while to come on when I entered the closet and I finally figured out that it was the wreath's sticking out just far enough to confuse the motion sensor. I hope this helps!

A:  Probably not the best idea. It could be done if you can drill out the tile, assuming ceramic, without chipping the tile and then using a screw with a plastic sleeve.

A:  You could try hook and loop pads (the kind made by Velcro and others), but this unit with the batteries is kind of heavy, so you may need to drill into the tile.

A:  These are light-sensitive and don't work in daylight or if other lights are turned on. If both are mounted on the ceiling of your closet so they shine down, they should work to light your closet. If you mount them on the side walls so they are aimed at each other, light from one will prevent the other from coming on. If you are worried about having enough light, there is also a 300 lumen version that might be a substitute for the two 200 lumen type. I have - and use - both in various applications.
