A:  yes you can. You would have to bury the gas line to come up in the center of the steel ring. I do not believe you can cut through the steel ring.

This Ledgestone Firepit Kit comes with EVERYTHING that you need... the steel ring insert, bags of sand and all blocks including the top caps that over hang (which is the top layer)..

A:  Hello Colleen, The kit as listed comes with a top ring at purchase. The top ring in the additional purchases tab goes with the 48" Grand Ring kit. That kit does not have a cap and can be found at the link below. I hope this helps. A:  There are concrete sealers in the stores you could apply. Very important to look at the instructions on the sealer to see if you can use it on a Firepit with high heat. We usually recommend concrete sealers for the patio blocks but I have not been aware of customers using it on a firepit just yet..

A:  i cemented the top ring down. the rest interlocked together. i've had it for a year. put it together last year on fathers day. pretty easy. looks like the day i got it and i live in ny so there is weather on it. i use it a bunch. makes a great fire.

A:  No. If you purchase this Ledgestone 47 in. Concrete Wood Fuel Fire Pit Ring Kit item. The kit includes 12 wall pieces, 4 caps, 1 steel ring and 3 bags of sand. You could purchase additional wall pieces (which are sold separately) only to raise the firepit height if you wanted.. If you purchase the kit, all pieces and ring are included.!

A:  Mine came exactly as the picture shows. I didn't have to buy anything separately.

A:  No, the top ring comes with the kit. You can purchase an extra layer of the stones separately, but the wider flat ring at the top comes with the kit.

A:  As with all concrete blocks as long as you have all of the blocks protected from the high heat and flame (with the steel ring) and also as long as it does not sit in water (need free drainage material below - or if on concrete patio make sure the patio is pitched so the firepit does not sit in water from rain or melting snow). Then it should last for years to come..

A:  The steel ring insert is 31 11/16" diameter so I dont believe that will fit your 40" product..

A:  48” round fire pit cover by Sunnydaze, available on amazon. To keep the cover from collecting snow or water buy a 10’ length of flexible plastic conduit and cut it in half. Bend it into a semi circle and bury the ends in the sand in the fire pit. Take the other half and do the same thing perpendicular to the other one. Zip tie them together where they cross each other. This creates a dome to hold the cover up and keeps snow off of it. The cover I bought has a draw string around the base to pull it right around the outside of the pit. Hope this helps

A:  We dont have any particular brand to suggest but any circular firepit cover that is 47" across should fit!

A:  No, you do not need to add a second steel ring. After adding the sand to the bottom of the pit the steel ring covers about an inch of the 4th layer. I just added another layer of stones and glued the cap stones. I have had many fires without issue.

A:  You will need to raise the original ring higher by adding crushed stone to the bottom of the inside of the firepit. The steel ring should be flush with the very top of the caps..

A:  unfortunately we do not have covers.. If you take the dimensions of the fire pit and search online you may find a cover that will fit.

A:  Home depot does not have the very top caps available for purchase separately but Nantucket Pavers distirbutors list on their website has a distributors that sell the pieces separately.. IF you are asking about the wall pieces the lower interlocking wall pieces they are available to purchase as a 4 piece kit on homedepot.com
