Q:Can I use a tabletop electric grill with this bench?
by|Aug 21, 2015
2 Answers
Answer This Question

A:  We cannot make specific claims regarding the performance of this product as we have never tested it for the specific use that you mentioned in your question. My feeling is that there would be heat generated below the tabletop grill onto the stainless steel top and that could act as a conductor to heat. However, the amount of heat transference can vary based on the temperature and size of the grill you are using.

by|May 3, 2023

A:  I would not be concerned about a table-top grill causing problems, but what would concern me is that under that very thin layer of stainless steel, is a wood under-surface. That wood will pick up moisture in the air, and start warping. Maybe if you lived in a super-dry climate like Arizona, you might get by with it. That being said, you could always replace the top on this with a sheet of steel available from any metal supplier, or a stone slab. I have a slab of marble in my back yard that actually would fit this bench now that I think about it. Its about a half-inch thick, and one grown man can carry it with effort, or two adults can carry it easily. The legs section under this bench is powder-coated steel, so they would hold up to the weather quite nicely.

    Q:Bamboo Top

A:  I believe it would be ruined. I would recommend if it is outside for it to be under a covered area.

    by|May 3, 2023

A:  All of the Workbenches are made with a powder-coated, rust resistant finish and the worktops are treated with a weather resistant finish, however we cannot make specific claims about leaving the workbench in an open area as climate conditions can vary dramatically based on your geographical location. Optional exterior protection products may increase the durability of the product, but we do recommend that you read and follow the instructions on any product that you use as it may effect the finish of the workbench components.

    by|May 3, 2023

A:  It is a tough, durable top, but personally, I would be very leery of leaving it out in the weather, unless you gave it a very thick coat of a UV resistant polyurethane all over. The leg system is powder-coated to resist rust, but that is mainly a preventative, not a complete protection.

A:  We do not recommend adding casters to the Workbench and altering the product from the original configuration will nullify all warranties on the product.

A:  The worktop on the Metal Workbench is 24 in wide and the 4 in organizer tray is in addition to the work top. The total depth of the Workbench would then be 28 in deep.

                    Answer This Question

A:  The legs are a fixed height, so the dimensions identified in the product specifications would be the height of the table.

                    by|May 3, 2023

A:  It appears the legs are adjustable only to make sure the bench is level. It may allow you to raise or lower the bench maybe 1".

A:  The legs are not adjustable. The feet do screw in and out about 1.5", but they are for leveling. This is a kitchen counter height workbench. The range of height is about 35.5 to 36.5 inches.

A:  Hi Suse, the legs are not adjustable. There are leveling feet, that adjust up or down to level the table. The height is 36 inches assembled.

A:  The height is about 36" the description "adjustable legs" is somewhat misleading as the feature is actually adjustable feet on the legs to compensate for uneven flooring, so the total adjustment is only about an inch.

A:  The adjustments on the leg bottoms are intended for leveling the table, not adjusting height, so figure 36 inches.

                      by|Jul 28, 2015

A:  The legs are only adjustabel for leveling. Whatever the table height is as advertised, is pretty much it +/- a half inch (1/2")

                      by|May 3, 2023

A:  The top WITH the tray is 24". With out the tray the bamboo top is only 20" or 21". Very misleading. I ordered $700 worth of tables and after getting it home find out the tops are almost too small for what I need. Way too much effort to re-pack and take back to Home Depot. Bamboo top is not very durable either...scratches easily, needs several layers of polyurethane. If the tops on mine fail or crack bad enough, I will use 2 4x8 sheets of oak, ash or maple to replace it. rt

A:  The workbench top is 24 in. D X 72 in L X 1 1/4 in H. The metal parts tray is in addition to the work top so the total depth of the workbench is 28 in D.
