A:  The design of this toilet flange is such it can be positioned at your desired height, without the need to use fillers. Just pay attention to where the bolt pattern aligns once the flange is twisted tight to seal.

    Answer This Question

A:  if the gasket is a tight fit to the inner diameter of your lead pipe and you have a solid surface to mount the flange to; then I do not see a problem. You can always google the issue and get a plumber's opinion. I am a DIY.

A:  Same problem, just tried it, doesn?t fit 3.75? ID cast iron pipe from 1950s Arizona house with concrete floors. Going to try the adjustable one that says it has a 3.70 OD.

A:  I had the same problem. I solved it by using my angle grinder to grind of some of the rust on the inside of the pipe. Now it works fine.

A:  Been a while since i put one in cast iron but, 3.75 is substandard pipe and the 4" flange will be a tite fit. That is cutting it close. A smathering of SuperLube Synthetic grease (bcause it is rubber safe) may help. You might get both 3" and 4" and see which works best for your pipe. Take care not to damage and you can return the one you do not use.

A:  So far, so good. Had it for about six months or more on a high traffic toilet. No leaks and no rocking. Materials appear to be tough enough to not crack or split from a normal install and usage. Tighten the screws/bolts snug, but over torquing can damage fasteners as well as openings on many materials. I don’t know the weight limits for this or your toilet should there be too much force from weight on one side or the other of the toilet.

FYI to you DYI people, This Toilet Flange dose NOT Come with mounting bolts / Screws . i can guess the manufactory don't know what floor you have Wood, Cement, or Tile Floors . so be sure to pick up the correct mounting screws ..

A:  The plastic is very strong. This flange is designed to replace a defective existing flange by using the twisting feature to provide a seal to the pipe in the floor and then mounting it directly to your floor with screws.

A:  Do not over tighten when securing the flange to the subfloor and when securing the toilet on the flange and the flange will not crack. The flange when installed properly will not be bearing any weight from the toilet.

A:  The threaded portion of the discharge pipe is tapered to allow for accommodation of ID's. I think that it should work well for that application although I have not specifically had that situation. Good luck.
