A: I used it be!ow my toe plate on the walls. I think it would work between any wood frame and concrete.
The purpose of this product is to provide a water proof layer between the wood and the concrete to reduce water transfer and to fill all the little spaces.

Q:Would this product be suitable to cover/insulate the ribs of a steel horse trailer? I have already insulated the trailer with 1" rigid foam board but need to bridge the insulation over the ribs. Recommended for my purpose is your 1/4" fanfold rigid foam board but that product is NOT available in Canada. (Secondary question, why isn't the fanfold rigid foam board available in Canada?)

A: I would say no, not s fit as it's thin and offers little insulating value. It's best used to stop air getting in between a foundation wall and a sill plate so in order that it would fill a very small gap. The fan fold insulation is much thicker and rigid and does offer insulating value so a very different use case.honestly though if you want to have the fan full insulation you can simply get the thinnest sheet insulation and fold it or create cuts in it as it's basically the same thing.

Q:Can I use this material between beams on my ceiling before I put decorative paneling between the beams? The beams hold the porch floor (which is the ceiling of the room below). The ceiling consist of the following layers: 1 layer planks, 1 layer plywood, 1 layer stone flooring. The issue is that the ceiling is very drafty and the beams are only about 13-14 inch apart.

A: Yes. We used it between the concrete floor and the bottoms of our walls. In that respect it acts as a thermal break. I'm not sure it would be a better choice than insulation that is actually designed for walls (ie, fiberglass) but would probably be better than nothing.

Answer This Question
A: That is exactly how I used it for my shed. I placed it under the pt lumber against the concrete slab to prevent moisture from coming in under the plate.
by|Jul 7, 2019
A: Yes, that's exactly how I used it. The shed instructions said use this or caulk. This was much easier.
by|Jul 6, 2019
A: Hi Tuckert, FoamSeal R would help to reduce air drafts under the shed. It can also help with moisture however pressure treated lumber may not require the use of this product. Please check your local codes for any requirements specific to your area. Thanks for your inquiry!

Q:Does the insect barrier claim also include termites?

Answer This Question
A: To repel termites, I?ve spread thin layer of borax powder between foam strip & sill wood, & into wall-bays before sealing the walls. 30 years later, no termites or carpenter ants, few any bugs; they frequent same spaces to get in, as borax got put.

A: Hi Ken, FoamSeal R helps prevent moisture by separating wood framing from concrete. This helps to prevent an environment which would attract insects. Thanks for your inquiry!
by|Apr 23, 2019
A: I don't think it will have a ton of insect repellent, it will slow them down but it just foam so they will chew through it. The main purpose of this item is to prevent moisture from the concrete seeping into your sill plate.
