Paslode product 650381 meets size requirements of a 6d common nail, which is acceptable for some applications of LP SmartSide siding, however the nail has a ring shank profile and the documents reviewed reference a smooth shank profile. Please consult the above-mentioned documents to identify the appropriate nail, dependent on your material series and application criteria.

A:  Yes "Galvanized" nail are acceptable for treated lumber. The ring shank helps to hold the nail in place as wet treated lumber can be slippery in the fibers and not hold smooth nails for very long.

A:  Yes - Paslode's hot dipped galvanized nails are approved for use in all pressure treated lumber.

A:  I am presuming that your decking is 2x4. These nails are only 2 inches long. Because 2x4s are not really 2 inches, all the nails will do is leave the points of the nails coming through. I don't know that Paslode makes a 2 1/2 inch nail, but they do make the 3 inch in outdoor use. These nails are rated for exterior use, which means more or less that they won't rust and stain the wood. Haven't stained my siding.

A:  It is not something I would use on decking. The shank is too small to hold the deck board and only 2 inches long. I use these for sheathing, and if I leave them exposed too long, they show rust.

A:  Here's a clip from Senco ... The Senco FramePro 600 nailer drives 2" - 3-1/2" smooth shank nails (Sencote® or plain) and 2" - 3" ring shank nails, 3" screw shank and clipped "D" head nails. Shank diameters include .113, .120, .131, and .148. ... so it looks like these should work

A:  Hi, this is Paslode marketing. These Paslode nails work in 30-degree framing nailers, and would work in that Senco nailer.

A:  These are standard 30˚ framing nails. If your gun takes that, you should be okay. Always check with the manufacturer if you are in doubt.
