A: 7,000 lbs is 3.5 tons, at least in the U.S. where 2,000 lbs equals 1 ton. I don’t answer facetiously because I know the U.S. Ton (technically the “short ton”” is different compared to the Metric ton @2,204.622622lbs and the U.K “long” ton @ 2,240lb. How many other “Tons” are out there are beyond me but these are the only tons I know of.

Q:Will this lift a Cadillac Escalade ESV?

Answer This Question
A: Probably not. Check your vehicle weight but I would guess it is over 7000lbs. My 2005 GMC Envoy is 6200lbs. Much small vehicle. My 2007 GMS sierra 2500HD is 7600lbs and it will not lift it.
by|Mar 18, 2021
A: You are confusing GVW with curb weight. There is no way your Envoy even fully loaded is 3 tons. The curbweight of a 2020 model is listed as 6088 pounds, well within the 7000 pound rated limit of this lift.

Answer This Question
A: I had this same issue. I assume you are asking about the welded seam jack points. I just hit the front one and let the rear one fall where it did. You need the slotted seam blocks. They help spread the weight. The rear is much lighter than the front so the unibody can handle the weight.

Q:when in the lowered position, can they be driven over or do they have to be moved out of the way?
by|Jan 10, 2021

Answer This Question
A: They are not designed to be driven over. When in the lowered position, you should slide them to the outside of your vehicle, move your vehicle as needed, then slide them under your vehicle, adjusting as necessary for proper placement.

A: Manufacturer states not, do not drive over them! I just push mine together under the car. No issue!
by|Jan 12, 2021
A: You can not drive your vehicle (tires) on them. They are not ramps. Once pulled out they have wheels on one end are very easy to maneuver around.
