Q:What if the gable vent is smaller than the diameter of the fan. Will it still work? The gable vent is about 10 inches tall and it a triangle shaped gable vent.

        Answer This Question

A:  Your gable vent is much too small and if you install a gable fan it will be extra loud, not move much air, and break quickly. We recommend a 16"x16" or bigger.

A:  Though it would still work, we would not recommend doing this as it may reduce airflow or cause undue strain on the motor.

Q:I see for Model #AFG SMT PRO-2.0, there are 2 speeds. The specs seem to show wattage for both, 70W @ low and 108W @ high, but I only see air flow for high speed, 1945 CFM. What is the air flow at low speed? I'd ask the same for the 3 speed model too.

                Answer This Question

A:  The smart hub does not have the ability to be synced with your whole house fan. You need to manually turn the fan on if its off to run with your whole house fan.

A:  I really don’t know how the three speed is different. The two speed is great. The speed pulls the heat out of my attic.

A:  I have a two speed fan, and it kicks on at the low setting at 80°. It kicks to the high setting at 100°. The higher setting is very loud, but it really moves the air out of the space.

                      Answer This Question

A:  The thermostat would be useless in the cold, but there is a timer function to force it on. So it would work, but this model would be overkill for a basement. A simpler model with any timer would be cheaper.
