Q:It's solar powered, correct? Then why does the video show him plugging it into a regular outlet??????

A:  It comes with an ac/dc inverter, which is basically a ?power cord? so you can plug it into an outlet to run at night.

    A:  There are two ways for this unit to get power, 1) Solar panel that directly powers the motor. 2) An AC/DC inverter power cord that can power the fan at night or on cloudy days.

      A:  As a solar installer, I never recommend making holes in a metal roof. if necessary though, just be sure to seal the hell out of it!

        Q:How can you claim to cover 2000 sf if your CFM's are only 791? To properly ventilate an attic, a person would require 700-800 CFM's per 1,000 sf, depending on pitch and color of shingles. At 40 watts, most attic fans would produce 1600 CFM's...

        A:  The spec sheet for the AFR SLR-40 states it outputs 1132 CFMs and is recommended for attics up to 1500 CFM on there.

          A:  We would not recommend that, the duct would create to much pressure on that motor as well you would be losing out on solar power

                    A:  Yes. There is an adapter. But it has a thermostat, so it will automatically shut off.
