Q:Can I hang this in an enclosed porch
    by|Jul 25, 2023

    Answer This Question

A:  Our water-based Fly Traps are meant for outdoor use only. While it is non-toxic, the attractant still produces a strong, unpleasant smell that you will not want to have inside. Due to the lack of airflow indoors, the attractant scent will concentrate in the area and make it harder for flies to find the trap.

Q:Do rescue fly traps have to be hung where there is an over hang or pour h or can they just hang off your fence even in the rain

              Answer This Question

A:  Hanging outside hasn't been a problem as long as water flow isn't directed into the top opening. A little water entering from rain won't hurt. My only concern outdoors would be if lots of direct sun exposure might cause the water in the trap to evaporate. You might check once a week to see if you need to add water or not. The traps work great and are worth a try.

A:  We have 4 of them hanging around our yard on the fence and rain hasn't bothered them at all. Highly recommend!!!

                by|Jul 14, 2023

A:  We suggest placing the Disposable Fly Trap in a sheltered area 20-30 feet away. Putting them in a sheltered area will help prevent rainwater from entering your trap. If you have any further questions, please reach us at info@rescue.com.

Q:I?ve been using these for a while, they work, but this year I feel like it?s only made the problem worse. Are these things having baby?s in the traps and the babies getting out?? I?m thinking of putting a sticky trap above them to catch anyone curious.

A:  Our Fly traps should be replaced every 30 days, when the trap dries out or when the trap is full – whichever of these three scenarios happens first. A dried-out trap can have breeding flies in it and flies could escape when a trap is dry.

A:  You?re right. My traps have maggots and those eventually become tiny flies who can easily escape the trap. Eventually they?ll probably get trapped again but I feel like I have way more flies when using the traps than when not.

A:  I don’t think so. It only attracts flies so I’m thinking your probably getting more flies that you would normally have. Just add water to it because it evaporates faster on hotter days.

A:  We suggest placing the Disposable Fly Trap in a sheltered area so that rainwater does not go inside the trap, making it less effective.

A:  No. It is not. The only part that is supposed to be open is the top where you cut a hole to add water. Take it back to the store to get a refund.

A:  In this heat (100 degrees for a month) it normally will. This years batch doesn't seem as effective as previous years but they sure put a dent in the fly population. Buy the bags, not the plastic jar type.
