A:  I think it’s a little extra run time. But these, at $79, for the pair when on special you can’t go wrong. They perform great. Last long. I have many of these and have zero issues with them.

A:  Any Ridgid battery will function in there tools. Newer batteries have longer life.

A:  18 volt 4 hour battery work great in my 24 volt tools. I do work with them everyday . I have no problems using them

A:  yes and it is nice that the 18v batteries will fit. I have many 18v tools over 10 years old and the new lithium batteries fit just as the old ni-cadmium did.

A:  According to Ridgid all there batteries are backwards compatible with the older tools. Hope this helps.

A:  yes, i have a 61/2” older model that came with nmh batteries and the new lithium batteries fit. Kudos to rigid for making them back compatible.

A:  The octane batteries have an extra prong on both the positive and negative. This allows high draw tools to access more juice from the battery, providing more power. This can also lower the temperature of the battery thus creating slightly more run time.

A:  Led light either stays steady or changes colour. I know there is a way to tell.  I just don’t recall and any away from the charger

A:  The power (inidcator) bars on the battery will flash while it's charging. When itw done charging it will stop flashing. I have three different style of Ridgid chargers and they all perform the same while charging and when charging is complete

A:  When all four lights on the battery are solid green and not blinking, the battery is fully charged.

A:  As the battery charges, the lights on the battery will blink. Once all four of the lights on the battery are lit and not blinking, the battery is fully charged.
