A:  Beta - I've used one of these for 3 years . I will work fine with the cheaper 8 inch blades as long as you get them with the 1 inch center hole, although the depth of the cut will not go as deep as the 9 inch but that is not an issue for me.

A:  Depends on what trimmer you are looking at. There is a 40volt Ryobi trimmer and a One + 18 volt. The trimmer picture sent to me looks like the 18 volt model. The 18 volt works very well for me. I have a standard lot and walk.

A:  Yes it will come apart, but be careful because the wires from the battery pack go thru this connection to the motor down at the bottom, I did not take mine apart to see if there is a connector for the power wires at this point also. So you would need to be sure the physical connection between the units is good but also the electrical connection. I just purchased a string trimmer which uses the same battery type and switch batteries to the unit I want to use.

A:  Any time the device contacts mulch, it will ‘fling’.  I’d suggest keeping mulch raked back a short distance from area to be edged.

A:  Yes I have one. Used it every lawn cut day for over a year now. Works great and is easy to use and store. Battery life is good. One tip is it is a nice but not a "have to" have more than one battery. If you forget to charge the one you have you stil have a back up.

A:  The picture is a edger, it works great. But it does throw debris, I wear a clear plastic visor.

A:  It will work as a garden edger but not very well.  The blade is not long enough to go deep into the soil and yes, the dirt will go flying around as well.

A:  LOL that option is not available. It's got the price with a 2 amp battery and charger. You want the four amps you have to buy them separately. And yes the 4 amps do work much better than the two amps on this tool.

A:  You can run it down until it doesn't touch the ground anymore, but for best results I replace it when it gets to the notch in the blade.

A:  When cutting edge gets down to the hole in center of blade.

A:  My blade is worn and needs replacement annually.
