Q:ok, now I am confused..per Revo: Installation is quick and easy. Wireless video transmission "eliminates the hassle of running cables". The Auto Pair technology will seamlessly pair the camera(s) to the recorder to start streaming HD Video. **The NVR does not show any place to hook-up cameras. (***IE browser is an insecure browser and no longer supported by Microsoft***) So why does it mention plugging in the cameras? ie: ""Plug the 4 CH Wireless Network Video Recorder (and( "camera(s)" into a nearby power outlet).

A:  What part do you find confusing? It’s says to Plug the NVR into an AC outlet . And it says to plug each camera into an AC outlet .

      by|May 17, 2019

A:  1st off, Most every modern day surveillance systems recommend using IE's latest version of browser to remotely access your surveillance system via PC. In addition, there is a CMS software program you can install on a PC to access the system remotely if you just don't want to use the IE browser. Additionally, you can access the system remotely through the Revo Wireless App via Tablet or Cell Phone. 2nd, these cameras do NOT require VIDEO wires connecting to the NVR. When NVR and cameras are both powered up, the cameras connect WIRELESSLY(Its own WiFi) to the NVR. In other words, WIRELESS VIDEO transmission between the two. Which eliminates the hassle of running video cables from cameras to the NVR. NVR to cameras communicate wirelessly with each other. That's why you don't have wire video connections for cameras to connect on the back of the NVR. 3rd, Plugging in cameras: Cameras require 12vdc power for cameras to operate. And the enclosed 12vdc x 120vac power adapters require plugging into a 120vac outlet. You can optionally purchase a single 120vac x 12vdc power adapter with a 4-way splitting 12vdc supply and just run 12vdc wiring the length required to reach from the 4-way splitter to each of the 4 cameras. In other words, only 1 single 120vac outlet can power all 4 cameras with this 4-way splitting. The NVR also requires power for it to operate by plugging into a 120vac outlet. Most all manufacturers of these types of surveillance systems operate and connect the same way. Hope this helps you better understand this system's connections and operation. *NOTE: You must have an Ethernet cable connected from the WAN port on the NVR to your router's LAN port to be able to access the system REMOTELY via IE browser, CMS software, or the REVO Wireless App. All REVO surveillance systems fully function and operate independently without this connected cable, but the Ethernet cable is needed if you want to view or access the system remotely.

Q:When there is movement, will the sensors notify me with an audible ?
      by|Apr 21, 2019

      Answer This Question

A:  You can set alerts in the Revo App and it will send alerts (audible and otherwise) to your phone. Keep in mind there is no "blocking" feature, which would allow the user to define the detection area. You can however set the level of motion sensitivity; however, without a blocking feature, you will get a lot of alerts if there is a tree or bush in the detection area that gets blown in the wind.

      Answer This Question

A:  This kit (model #: RWG41BNDL-1) comes with 2 cameras (camera model #: RWCB40-2) and a 4 channel gateway, which would imply you can add two more cameras; however, I have yet to find camera model RWCB40-2 sold separately. Also, the documentation included in the kit does not mention anything about adding cameras, nor does it mention if other camera models are compatible with the gateway.

A:  Yes, an additional 2 cameras can be added to the included gateway.

Q:why do the specifications list the operating range at 1000 feet and the and then list the indoor wi-fi connection at 200 feet max. and can i connect the nvr to my home network via ethernet to home router and access the cameras on my home pc

A:  The 1000ft is line of sight. Inside your home walls reduce that a lot. The hard drive can be hooked with cable. And with the app you can view it on your phone. Any wireless pc. Or run cable to home Tv.

        by|Mar 11, 2019

A:  Not sure about the range being 1000ft.. Maybe in an open field, with nothing in the way. But going through walls, I wouldn't expect much more than 100-200ft depending on how many walls you're going through. As far as connections go, you connect it with a lan cable, and can access your cameras (once your set it up) from a website, viewable on any device with a browser. The cellphone app also works well. But you aren't the technically connecting it to your computer. It will need it's own monitor to access all the functions using the mouse provided.

A:  Hello Donald. Wireless technology in general functions differently indoors and outdoors. The same applies to cell phones as well. As when in open area, wireless products in general have longer transmission distance than in an enclosed area. Please also take into consideration that other wireless devices can interfere with the wireless signal strength and therefor affect the transmission distance. Even metal buildings, metal materials, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, computers, other wireless devices in the area, etc...can all affect the wireless transmission range. And yes, you can connect the NVR to your home network and you can access the NVR from your PC at home or elsewhere and or smart phone. Hope this helps.

A:  Question1: Good question-- I would contact Support at 1 (866) 625-7386 and find out. From my knowledge I would think the 1,000 feet operating range would be outdoor range for example: Placing the NVR on the 50-yardline of the football field with the 4 cams on the 4 outside corners of the endzones. In other words, "0"(NO) obstructions in view. So, the 200 foot max is with the NVR indoors with obstructions(walls, etc.) in view to the cameras. For optimal performance I do recommend no more than 50 feet distance between cameras and NVR Question 2: Yes, you do connect NVR to router via ethernet to remotely(wirelessly) access on PC, tablet or cell phone. NOTE* All of Revo systems are stand alone systems. Which means you do NOT need internet for the system to fully function locally, but you would need a dedicated monitor attached to the NVR for live-viewing and playback of prerecorded footage.
