A: Hi VM72. Great question! Yes, this is the Ring Smart Lighting Motion Activated Spotlight Battery (2-pack) with Smart Lighting Bridge, which includes a Ring Bridge. The Ring Bridge groups together Ring Smart Lights and connects them to Ring doorbells and cameras. If a Ring Bridge-enabled device detects motion, it can turn on lights, activate cameras, and more. A: Hello Dave, No, batteries are not included with the Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight Battery. The Ring Spotlight does use four D batteries. To get the most life out of your batteries, we recommend using standard alkaline batteries in Ring Smart Lighting devices. You can use rechargeable batteries, although they may not last as long as alkaline batteries. Heavy duty batteries should not be used in Ring Smart Lighting. Lithium batteries are also compatible with Ring Smart Lighting and are recommended when the weather is extremely cold. You can expect about a year of battery life when they keep the brightness at 50% and have the lights activate in 30-second intervals. A: Hi Mel! Yes, one of the best ways to make sure your Smart Solar Lights are on when you want them to be is to use the powerful Light Schedules feature in your Ring app. If at any point you wish to temporarily disable a schedule there is a toggle on the main schedules screen that can be toggled off. When they want to turn it back on, simply toggle it back on. If you would like to find out more about light schedules, and how they may work for you, please read this helpful article from our website: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041290112-Controlling-Your-Smart-Solar-Lights-with-Light-Schedules Additionally, if you have any questions or concerns that you would like to have addressed directly, you are welcome to reach out to us via our community page anytime. A: Hi PrinD, The Ring Smart Light Spot Light operates with PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detection to trigger the light feature. When dealing with windows and motion detection, a common concern that occurs is heat may be blocked by the window, restricting the motion detection capabilities for the Spot Light. Linking devices together, for enhanced security, is an option for you to achieve this by using a motion sensor on the exterior of your home. If you would like to learn more about linking devices, please review this helpful article to see if this solution would work well for you: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026206031-Linking-Your-Ring-Devices-Together-for-Enhanced-Security. We are always happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have, and invite you to reach out to us anytime to get connected with a Ring representative directly. Kindest Regards, Caitlin with Ring
