A:  That's a great question. We at Root pouch recommend at least a #5 gallon to a #7 gallon for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. The larger the pot the bigger the yield Hope that helps Happy Planting

A:  No, very small.  Better to pick larger size containers.  Good for small pepper plants.

Our fabric pots are great for growing all sorts of veggies and they are great for potatoes but we usually recommend our #15 gallon pots as you will need the depth. A:  Yes. I'm growing potatoes right now and also grew them for the first time last year. The 15 gallon bags work perfectly and I got a pretty good harvest :-)

A:  Julie Thank you for your interest in Root Pouch products. Our pots handles are quite strong but they cannot be used to pull the pots as they will fail when used that way. A fully planted 65 gallon pots could weigh well over 100 pounds so not really movable unless using a fork lift and I will be honest the weight and jiggling of the pot when using a forklift will potentially break the handles. The handles on our large pots are made to ease the planting of the pots. Holding them open is easier with a handle. Hope that info helps thank you Sherry Dudeck Root Pouch

A:  They are strong enough. The very large ones get very heavy when filled with dirt so we needed to pull with our tractor but 200 gallons and under can be pulled to a new location by hand. I have some that are a few years old now and are as strong as when I first got them.

A:  This size was much larger than I thought. It was about 2/3 full when I realized that I should make sure I could move it. I wasn’t able to move it easily, so I stopped filling it with soil. I would definitely buy a smaller size, probably one that is less than 45 gallons. I use 15-gallon size for each tomato plant. 

A:  Yes, you can. There are handles to pull them to a new location. I wouldn't try to lift --- too heavy. They are well made and tough.

A:  I somehow doubt it but worth the experiment.

A:  Katie Thanks for the great question. Root Pouch pots are great for house plants and they will fit into a decorative pot really well. A:  I don't think you will like the finished look. The bags have handles which will show above the pot and this fiber is flexible and will not seat snuggly for a polished finished look in the decorative pot. I use my bags for growing food crops and the handles help if you have to move them for an unexpected frost or for more or less sun.

A:  I don't know if i would do that. Since the pouch is breathable the roots will grow through the pouch. I have heard when you try to repot it, it is difficult and causes a lot of root damage when you have to rip the roots from the fabric. I use it for seasonal vegetables and many times I have to really pull or turn the pouch inside out to pull the roots from the fabric. I still love them for my seasonal fruits and vegetables!
