A: Thank you for reaching out, Jim. While our Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Kit provides a durable floor coating, it can not be applied to wooden surfaces. Instead, we recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Rocksolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coating Kit as it can be applied to wood floors.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out. While Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Coating Kit can be applied to concrete surfaces, it can not be applied outdoors. The UV exposure will cause the paint to yellow and haze. Instead, we recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Concrete & Garage Paint + Primer to outdoor concrete surfaces.

Q:Can you use this paint on a metal floor?
by|Jul 29, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, Dennis. Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Coating Kit can only be applied to concrete surfaces as it needs to penetrate into the pores of the concrete. Applying to a metal floor will hinder the kit from properly curing leaving a tacky finish on the surface.

Q:Can this be used over our etched concrete covered back porch?
by|Jul 22, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, Curtis. While our Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Coating Kit can be applied over concrete that has been prepped by etching, it can not be applied to outdoor surfaces. Even with the cover on the back porch the UV exposure will cause the paint to yellow or haze. Instead, we recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Concrete & Garage Paint + Primer as it can be applied to outdoor concrete.

Q:Does this need a clear coat on top when using chips? The chips on mine seem to stick up a little and when walking on it, they naturally break off and pieces are removed. I'd hate to have minimal chips remaining in a a few months.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, Cody. While it is not necessary to apply a clear top coat with our Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Coating Kit, if the chips are protruding this can cause the chips to lift the coating. To ensure for the best protection for your garage floor we recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Clear Garage Floor Topcoat.
