A: Happy to help, Peter. While Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Kit provides a durable coating for concrete surfaces, it will not properly adhere to metal causing it to crack and peel.

Q:I installed the dark grey EpoxyShield today with the chips. It covered well but not great. Can I do another coat tomorrow even though I used the chips? If so would I roll a new coat on and use chips again?

Answer This Question
A: Happy to help. Yes, a new Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Kit can be applied to a surface that has been coated with the same kit, even if the chips were applied. If it has been longer than 48 hours you will have to sand the surface using 60-80 grit sandpaper for the new kit to properly adhere. The chips can then also be applied with the 2nd kit.

Q:Can you use this to paint the wooden shed floor?

Answer This Question
A: Happy to help, Salvatore! Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Concrete and Garage Floor Coating is suitable for interior concrete floors only. We do not recommend it for wood, as this material will flex more, causing the coating to crack and peel. Instead, we recommend Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor Coating for wooden shed floors.

Q:I just poured a new concrete slab for a shed and the finish is a broom finish. Will this product cover the thicker broom finish, or is it suggested to grind the slab for even finish
by|Jun 13, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out, David. Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Garage Floor Kit can be applied to garage floors with a broom finish. However, it is necessary to grind or etch the surface to open the pores of the concrete and allow the Garage Floor Kit to properly adhere. Also, be sure to allow the concrete to cure for 28 days before applying the kit.
