Q:Can you use this on jewelry ?
by|Oct 15, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We're happy to help. While Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer provides excellent protection to a number of surfaces, we do not recommend applying to jewelry. The constant exposure to skin will wear the finish and cause it to crack and peel over time.

Q:Can you use this to touch up scratches on a wood floor.
by|Sep 5, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We appreciate your interest, Pete. While Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray can be used on wood surfaces, we do not recommend it for use on floors. This product will not withstand foot traffic, and it will crack and peel as it is walked on. At this time, we do not offer a clear spray suitable for wood floors.

Q:On stripped down old wood table is it best to use a primer first or just several coats of spray lacquer paint?
by|Sep 4, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: You can do either, Terri, but you'll find that lacquers tend to be thinner, so you'd need multiple coats of the Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray Paint. If you do consider a primer, we'd suggest the Rust-Oleum Universal Bonding Primer, though, we do have several you can choose from: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Universal-Bonding-Primer-Spray-6-Pack-285011/205926957 - Rust-Oleum Product Support
