A:  thin but sturdy enough stick on carpet and be walked on. Warning: but do NOT leave it on the carpet for more than a few hours otherwise it will leave a residue which cannot be removed.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Unless otherwise stated, all of our Carpet Shield products are 2.8 mil's (0.0028 inches) thick. This provides both protection of your carpet as well as the necessary flexability to work on its surface. Please reach out to surfaceshields.com/contact-us with any further questions.

Q:What does "Reverse Wound" mean? (Is the adhesive on the "outside" of the roll?)

          A:  Yes

          by|Dec 17, 2020

A:  Yes. We have a roller applicator which helps to apply it, but it can be applied by one person. Peel some back, apply it and kneel on it to get started.Once you get two to three feet stuck down, you can stand behind it and pull it the length you need it and lay it down. Hope this helps.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, "reverse wound" means the tacky part of the Carpet Shield self-adhesive film is on the outside of the roll making it easier to apply to the carpet. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us at surfaceshields.com.

A:  It doesn’t leave a visible residue or any stickiness. I’ve used it several times without an issue.

A:  Yes, carpet cleaning with special cleaning products and methods will remove the residue. If you had issues of residue from this product, it's possible it was left on the carpet to long or possibly a defective batch. No number on the bow, but try their website at www.surfaceshields.com

                        Answer This Question

A:  I am sure it will work on wood floors yet since the adhesive is so strong I would be hesitant to use it on wood floors. If your floor has any protection sealant on it, the sealant might be removed when pulling up the film.

A:  Thank you for contacting us. Carpet shield is a temporary carpet protection product intended for synthetic carpeting only. We do not recommend using this product on a hardwood surface. We recommend considering using the multi surface protection. It is a durable, self-adhering protective film for hard surfaces, such as tile, marble, granite, vinyl, VCT, laminates and factory finished hardwood. Here is a link for your convenience: https://www.surfaceshields.com/multi-surface. Should you have any outstanding questions, please select the “contact us” tab on our website to submit a general inquiry or call to speak with a customer service representative. We hope you find this information useful.

Any bladed edge (scissors, a utility knife, the Ram Board Multi-Cutter, etc) can be used to cut Carpet Shield, but no matter what item you use to cut Carpet Shield care must be used not to damage the surface you are trying to protect. Feel Free to reach out to us at surfaceshields.com with any further questions. Good luck with your project!
