Q:Can food debris be trapped inside the stainless steel trims when you clean the ceramic top?

Answer This Question

A:  It could be possible for food to be trapped between the cooktop and countertop if the countertop is tiled and the grout lines are not level with the top of the tile. If you have a quartx, marble, or laminate counter no problem. No problem with any type of smooth top counter (and level all the way around with no dips in the counter)

A:  You do not have to vent using electric or induction. Venting is just to remove the smell of things cooking or burning (if that be the case). You should vent if using a gas cooktop. Note that the gas furnace and gas water heaters are both vented so you will not die!! CARBON MONOXIDE KILLS!!! Cooking food does not!

Q:Does this work with small pots, as small as 4.5 inches in diameter? Compatibility with small pots is a flaw with many induction cooktops, including my older model Samsung range.

A:  It should work if the pan is magnetic. However, it has to be positioned just right. You have to use the correct "burner" (read smallest). It is not the best size pan to use on the cooktop. I would not use anything smaller than six inch as anything smaller really does not fit on the smallest of my Samsung 36 inch induction hobs.

Q:Can this be used in an rv? Power source solar or batteries or both?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Most likely NO, it draws 38amps and can consume over 10kw . From a safety perspective, I would never consider using this in an RV. While it is highly unlikely that you would be using all burners on power boost at the same time, the primary burner (#3) draws 4,800 watts, that is more power than both AC units combined. Ultimately it depends on your inverter, but you wouldn't be able to run the AC while the cooktop was on, otherwise you would trip the circuit breaker.

A:  No, this 36 inch Samsung is way too large for an RV that does not have a generator. This cooktop is not battery powered and uses more power than any RV generator is able to produce.
