A:  Yes, seal-once can be applied to pressure treated wood!

A:  I would recommend Seal-Once Nano for your hot tube, Seal-Once Marine is made for docks over the water because it is safe for the fish. You may use Seal-Once Nano clear on the outside of your hot tub, but not the inside or any area that will be submerged under water. Clear will allow the wood to grey naturally. Seal-Once must be applied to raw bare wood. If your hot tub is stained or sealed now, Seal-Once will not penetrate, leaving un-even shiny sticky spots. You must completely strip off all the current products.

A:  No, if the wood is painted, the Seal-Once Marine will not penetrate into the wood and will leave a mess on top of the paint. Any previous coating will need to be completely removed and the bare wood surface prepared by sanding lightly with 80-grit paper.

A:  The Seal-Once Exotic product may be a better option here. Marine should work too, but beware that teak wood contains a lot of natural oils which contribute to it being particularly difficult to penetrate and gain adhesion. You will want to clean the surface by pressure washing and using Seal-Once All Wood Cleaner, making sure to allow the wood to dry well before applying Seal-Once. The cleaner will help lift some of the oils from near the surface and allow the Seal-Once to get in more easily and evenly. Use two light coats (don’t over apply) and be sure to back brush, to help the coating get into the wood.

A:  Our tests show that Seal-Once recovers and functions after being frozen and thawed three times. Let it warm up and then stir it well. If there are any chunks or it separates quickly, then don’t use it and return it for a replacement.
