A:  Hello Jayziim, I assume you are referring to the screw-top lid? It may take some leverage to unscrew the middle piece Some people find using a hairdryer to slightly soften the plastic helps. Holding the lid between your feet may give you some leverage. It shouldn't be so tight brand-new that the center piece doesn't come out. You may want to return it to your local store for a new one, if it continues to be stubborn.

A:  Handle - The easiest way would probably be to saw through it. The bent end of it is hard to access and it is awfully strong to straighten out the bend enough to pull it through. I mean...we make them so they DON"T come off.

A:  Hello Aaron, You are correct, the orange buckets are not considered food-safe. We don't guarantee that virgin resin was used and the dyes used for the colorant are not food-safe. Currently we have only one food safe bucket at Home Depot (search Item# 300197644) which is a 5-gallon white bucket. It has a sticker explicitly marking it as food-safe.

A:  Homie - There is no fill line on our 5-gallon buckets, but you will reach five gallons at about the second ring from the top. This is an approximate measure.

A:  Milo - The buckets are tapered. At the top, the interior diameter is approximately 11.308"; about 4.5" down it measures approx. 11.057"; at the bottom, it is approx. 10.273". Hope that gives you an idea.

We sell orange, white, and black lids to Home Depot on a regular basis. Our 5-gallon buckets are a standard size so any 5-gallon lid will fit.
