Q:So the moles die underground in your yard?
by|Dec 30, 2016

Answer This Question

A:  Some did but others came up out of the ground to die.

by|Jul 4, 2018

A:  Yes it can kill them underground but most times they do come out a small ways away from their dens to seek water. Since they are primarily nocturnal, you won't see the dead mole, vole, etc. until morning and it will probably be pretty small, dark, flat and dead. Pick it up with a rack or gloved hands or a plastic bag inside out and toss it in the garbage. Home Depot sells these and they work well when you find the right hole (active) and stomp on others you can find.

Q:How is this applied? Do you drop one "worm" into each entrance hole? Or dig into an existing tunn...

    Answer This Question

A:  I opened up some runs just enough to place the worm in. Leave the tip slightly exposed, mark it with a stick or some other kind of marker to see if it has been eaten. It worked great for me.

    by|Jul 4, 2018

A:  I used one worm (they are pretty long) into each of 3 holes and tramped down the other two or three. Make sure the holes you use are "active" - that they go somewhere under ground and not dead ends.

A:  If you use this or the TomCat kill kit, or poison pellets and do not get a good result, then try the live catch cage close to the active hole or mound and catch them that way. Kill or drive them 100 or more miles away and let them lose in a nice field or forest not on someone else's property.

Q:This is a restricted use item. Aren't you supposed to sell this to only people certified with the state of Michigan?

A:  You can read the box online first if you are in the state of Michigan. If there is a restriction for any state, it will be on the box. It is not restricted in NE. Home Depot associates can help you with another solution like a live catch cage.

Q:Will this work for voles also?

        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, if they are the small ones that look like moles or chipmunks. The ones I used it on were smallish; probably 4-5" long tops. I would think you could use 2 or three for larger animals and please keep your pets away. Since you place them inside holes, they should not bother birds.

Q:Will this work for above ground moles?
        by|Jun 20, 2016

        Answer This Question

A:  There are 7 species of Moles and all do not live above ground. They may come out after dark but because of their poor vision they don't stay away from their burrow for long. Immature moles come out to go out and find their own way but quickly build a burrow and stay underground. So that is why the worm in the active runway of a burrow will probably work either the first time or the second. Because moles are sensitive to concussion, and if the work doesn't work or just stuns them, you can smack them with a shovel on the ground above a mole in its surface tunnel to quickly kill it.

Q:Bought these and either a raccoon or skunk dug everyone up

          Answer This Question

A:  This product only controls moles.

          by|Jun 10, 2016

A:  First I would say, which animal problem do you want to solve first? Second I would say, did the worms kill either? Lastly I would say you did not put the worm far enough inside an active hole and stomp all other holes down so the mole can only go out the one you put the worm in. You can also buy live catch or dead catch cages/tools at Home Depot to get rid of all tree problems. I had a whole skunk family under my open deck - what a mess! Would not have mattered if it was raccoons either. Got some heavy duty, tight mesh, rubber dipped chicken wire (see pic below). You must dig down 6-9" around your deck and curve the bottom part of the wire (do before putting in) and put the upper side under the wooden structure or staple it to back or front tightly. Skunks and raccoons will not dig down when they encounter the tight mesh; they come up to the wire, scrape the soil a bit and then go away. They are not smart enough to dig down 6-12". If you put a live catch cage at their hole which is pretty large so position it right and occlude both sides so they walk right into it and the door slams behind. If they have pups, they will also walk up into the cage so try doing this at night when they come out. You can put the mess around all four sides with one small area open to the cage with a ramp leading into it. Mother and children should come out at the same time, but sometimes they don't so you need to get the Mom first and get rid of her about 100 miles away, and then wait for or encourage the pups to come out without her if you find yourself in that predicament. Good luck.

            Answer This Question

A:  Not if your pet is a mole. But seriously, if applied correctly this will be fine around other pets. If you leave out sitting out, it IS laced with a pesticide and could be harmful.
