Q:Can I use the red part to cap an existing Toro pop up sprinkler?
by|Nov 9, 2020

Answer This Question

A:  The red cap is a shipping and installation cap used to keep dirt out during install and to be able to lift the popup afterward to install the spray head. If you plan to take the sprayer off temporarily then the cap should be used to keep the popup clear. If you are trying to block off a head using the red cap it is not designed for that. The popup will still rise, the cap will likely leak and will probably eventually blow out.

A:  No, the red cap is a “flush cap” that is designed to allow water to flow through the cap to allow any debris to leave your system before installing a nozzle.

      Q:Is this a 4" body?

      Answer This Question

A:  This is what is considered a 4” pop up. The body of this spray, from inlet to top of spray, is just over 6”. The stem/riser pops up just over 4”. Thank you.

A:  Not sure from the picture. Most 570 series heads are 4 inches. Search in the description of the product online. It will list the dimensions.

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this spray body will replace obsolete Irritrol part number HS400. The pop up spray body will require a Toro, male-threaded MPR+ nozzle or specialty nozzle to complete the installation. Thank you.

A:  I have no idea. Check with Google

            by|Jul 1, 2019

A:  The Toro 570z can be used in place of the Irritrol. However, some people feel that the 570z is a poor choice for replacement. I have not experience with the Irritrol sprinkler.

Q:What is the difference between this body and the one with part number 53742?

                Answer This Question

A:  Model 53742 has “X-Flow” technology. “X-Flow” uses a check valve that shuts off the head to eliminate erosion and water waste in the event that the nozzle is damaged or sheared off.

Q:I would like to re-ask the question that DOC asked on May 27, 2016. Why does the 570Z Pro Series model 53821 cost almost twice as much as the 570Z Pro Series model 53813? The 53813 comes with a nozzle, which the 53821 does not.

A:  That is correct; model 53813 includes a 15’, ½ circle-pattern (180 degrees), matched precipitation rate nozzle with a pressure compensating device. Model 53821 is a 4” pop-up body with a flush plug – no nozzle included.

Q:What's the distance of the watering of the todo570z?

                    Answer This Question

A:  The watering distance is determined by your nozzle. Toro MPR+ nozzles can be adjusted down 20% from their max radius. So, a 15’ nozzle would be appropriate for a spray radius of 12’ to 15’. Various radii nozzles are available to fit your particular needs.
