A:  No, there is no condensation box. I made our own plastic box with a hose connected to the drain. I empty the plastic container once it reaches the valve that's attached to the plastic box.

A:  There is a condensation tray (box) in the bottom of the unit. How often it must be emptied will depend on the humidity in your location. In northern Idaho we virtually never need to drian it -- we just wash it out once a month. The tray also has a hose connection if you wish to have the unit drain itself.

A:  Hi, Chloe. We appreciate you reaching out with your question about the Toshiba 10,000 BTU (7,000 BTU DOE) Portable Air Conditioner. Draining for this unit will require you to remove the upper drain plug from the back of the unit and install the drain connector (5/8” universal female mender) with a 3/4” hose (locally purchased). If the unit's drain tray is filling up with water instead of draining out of the hose, this means the unit is in a high-humidity environment. Please note, this unit can also remove up to 4 pints of moisture from the air each hour, so frequent draining can be normal. Have a nice day. Toshiba Customer Care. (BBB A+ Accredited Business)

A:  We run the tube into a gallon jug and then set that into a 5 gallon bucket in case of overflow. Especially if we are gone and also so we don't have to remember to empty so often.

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. For more specifications on this unit you can contact Toshiba at 1-855-204-5313 as the manual does not specify how much clearance from the floor to the bottom of unit although it does say there is a water catch pan already. The wheels do look like you can detach them but again nothing that specifically states that they can be removed. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Q:1) Do you need to connect the Drainage Hose when only using the Dehumidifier Mode? Or better to connect it when using the Normal Cool mode too? 2) When you connect this Drainage Hose, does it automatically continously empty water into your bucket?

A:  Hello Anon. Thank you for your questions about the Toshiba 10,000 BTU (7,000 BTU DOE) 115-Volt Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner. The drainage hose should be connected when using the dehumidifier mode or when using the air conditioner in a high humidity environment. It is not necessary to connect the drainage hose when using the normal cool mode, but it is recommended to avoid overflow or water spillage. When you connect the drainage hose, the water will automatically drain continuously into a suitable drainage location. Please make sure that the drainage location is at a lower level than the unit to ensure proper drainage. Have a great day. Toshiba Customer Care. (BBB A+ Accredited Business)
