Q:What floor primer (if any) should I use to install these peel-and-stick tiles on vinyl sheet flooring?

Answer This Question
A: Hello Derek - thank you for your inquiry. Please visit your local Home Depot / flooring department. Depending on your location will determine which product brand they will carry. Typically it will be Henry. These products will be amongst the flooring adhesives section. (Please ensure if installing on top of existing sheet vinyl that the sheet vinyl is in great condition. And also installed using full spread adhesive. You shouldn't install on top of cushion back sheet vinyl.) We also recommend reviewing / reading the installation instructions very thoroughly if you haven't already done so. Thank You -

Q:Can these tiles be used on walls

Answer This Question
A: Hello Mart - thank you for your inquiry. No - the TrafficMaster vinyl peel & stick tiles will not work properly on a wall. The pressure sensitive adhesive will fail & the tiles will pull away from the wall. If you're looking for a vinyl peel & stick product for walls, we would recommend looking at the DuraDecor product lineup. The Weekend Warrior is a product that is specifically designed for a vertical or horizontal surface. https://duradecor.com/weekend-warrior/
Hope this helps answer your questions. Thank You -

Answer This Question
A: Hello Frad and thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Tile are not designed to be used in wet areas such as solariums, porches/patios, sun rooms, or garages as it will compromise the adhesive, and also void the manufacturer's product warranty. We would suggest reviewing the Installation and Warranty Guidelines (found in each carton or on the product page of The Home Depot website) prior to installation. Thanks again.

Q:Can you use over existing floor tiles
by|Jan 10, 2024

Answer This Question
A: Hello Jeff and thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Tile can be installed over ceramic/porcelain tile; However, several preparation steps need to be taken prior to doing so. The existing tile surface must be: clean, free of any debris, smooth, and the existing grout joints must be filled in/patched with a latex based patch compound. (Otherwise the ceramic tile will "telegraph" through to the vinyl tile surface.) We would recommend reviewing the installation instructions (found in each carton or on the product page of The Home Depot website) prior to installation. Hope this helps answer your questions. Thanks again, and all the best with your flooring project.

Q:What underlayment is required?
by|Dec 26, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hello Glenn and thanks for your question. The TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Tile should be directly adhered to the subfloor and do not require any additional underlayment. Nevertheless, in order to get the correct adhesion to the subfloor, the vinyl tile should only be installed on either a concrete subfloor, underlayment grade plywood subfloor, or properly prepared existing resilient flooring. But first, a latex based flooring primer should be applied, then rolling the new vinyl flooring with a floor roller afterward. We would recommend reviewing the Installation and Warranty Guidelines (found in each carton, or on the product page of the Home Depot website) prior to installation. Thanks again for choosing TrafficMaster Peel and Stick Vinyl Tile Flooring.
