A:  A single tool of 75 lbs, no way. Personally, I wouldn't attempt even a single tool over 5 to 7 lbs, but that's just my gut. Distributed across many of the holes (not just a few) of both boards, and using the tool hanging and mounting hardware kits provided, 75 lbs in aggregate might be possible. The tool hanging hardware is hefty, anchoring across at least two holes, and features screws that really hold the hardware in place (although this does limit impromptu flexibility somewhat). The board itself is solid plastic and not the fiberboard type material of standard pegboard, so it's sturdier and the holes are less likely to rip out, especially where moisture is involved. But the board has more flex to it, so proper mounting is key. The mounting kit comes with metal cups to space the board about 1/2" off the wall, and mounted as prescribed, it makes for a sturdy installation. The install instructions have you fastening the boards in three places across each of the two boards along their long sides. It's not just a four corners mounting proposition, since the board is too flexy for that. So if you follow the mounting instructions, you'll be putting screws in places other than just 16" OC studs. We used drywall anchors. Hope this helps.

A:  Steel pegboard is stronger than polypropylene pegboard. My experience is this 1/8" polypropylene board is stronger than similarly sized standard pressed fiber pegboard.
