Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Anonymous - Our PVC schedule 40 pipe is tested and rated for water use. Since we don't test for its weight carrying capacity, we cannot advise. It's also difficult to advise how long PVC will last based on many factors . . . buried, above ground, sun or shade, etc.

      Q:Can this support human weight?

A:  How heavy is the human? If you bundle these vertically, you could build a structure strong enough to support a lot of weight, but why would you? If you are building furniture, I would suggest using a larger diameter PVC pipe to lessen the bowing that will occur.

Q:What Schedule 40 piping is recommended for underground landscape drainage

            Answer This Question

A:  There is no schedule 40 piping recommended for underground landscape drainage. It is used mainly for sewers. However, that does not mean that you can not use schedule 40 for underground landscape drainage. It really does not make any difference which schedule 40 you use as long as it is plastic. Plastic does not deteriorate and as long as the drainage flows down hill, you will be fine.

A:  This is a much better product than grey and blue conduits. This is the standard especially for water supply lines! This pvc line has devices that fit together much better increasing quality and longevity of system results!

A:  Yes, they use the same material for water supply lines in some cases. Good news is you will only buy it once since in a billion years from now they will be digging this stuff up and wondering what it is.

A:  it is possible to find trace amounts of phthalates, but this pipe is tested to and approved to meet the NSF 61 standard.
