A: I do not see much wood grain but I did not want to as I used mine to frame mirrors and make a faux wainscotting. I suppose one could use it as baseboard but I would worry as baseboards often get dings and it would not be as easy to patch. I like it for what I used it for and would do so again. Lightweight and easy to work with.

A: Doesn’t look like real wood. But can stain with Gel Stain. Mine is on inside door trim so cats can’t scratch. Also works great for outdoor trim as won’t rot.

Q:How Rigid is this? Can I use it as fascia board to hang gutters? My rafters are 24" and 16" spaced.

Answer This Question
A: We are currently replacing all of our old wood fascia boards with this product, it is great. (HINT: use the white Trim Head Screws that use the T-10 star bits -- bits are included with the screws. We use the 8 x 2-1/2" GRK Fasteners, #96075). You don't have to paint the boards (although you can if desired), and they'll never rot or deteriorate. No problems at all with gutters.
