A:  Yes, should work OK. Hole size matches rail size. We had no problems, but needed to expand vertical dimension a bit since fence when down a grade. Easy to modify as needed.

A:  I cut the rails to fit the area I had. Put the fence posts in at 7-8 and 9 ft intervals to miss the trees. It all came together nicely. Easy to cut to fit ..Remember you have 2 rails so you need two of each length.

A:  If you buy the 16 foot sections you can cut it to the length you need, they are the same dimensions as the 8' sections, here is another thought, buy the 16' sections for the whole project, pick them up from the store and bring them home yourself as an 8 foot section costs 16.++ and the 16 foot sections cost 16.00 so you can cut the cost of the rails in half check it out.

A:  Thanks for your quick replies. We ordered and received the fence posts. To our surprise, when we went to the HD to purchase the rails, they were just $12 each for the 16 ft in length instead of the previous advertised price of $16. They had several vinyl items on clearance so we wondered if they are phasing it out. Sure hope not. We did modify our plans a little to allow for the most spacing of 8' between posts. Had we kept with our plan of going 9 ft between posts to make it even, we would have had a lot of unusable waste. We are putting the shorter section in the lease visible location. Really love the look of the 2 rail fence.

                  Answer This Question

A:  From the top of the post to the first hole is 2 in. The holes are 1-9/16 in. x 5-5/8 in. and there is 10-1/2 in. between the first and second hole. So from the top of the first hole to the top of the second hole the distance would be 16-1/8 in.

A:  The rail holes are slightly over sized to fit the standard 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" vinyl rail. The top hole is 2 inches below the top of the post and the bottom hole starts 18" below the top of the posts. ie. The holes are on 16" centers.
