Q:does this work or Weber Silver 8127 ?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello RG, we're sorry, but 8127 isn't a valid Weber Genesis Silver model number. 8127 is the part number for a control panel used on a wide range of models made from 2000 until 2005. Please reach out to us at reviews@weberstephen.com and we can ID your specific Genesis Silver model and determine which igniter kit is appropriate. Thanks.

A:  We bought the kit but could not get the on button up through the metal plate on the side. It is just dangling, but we can push the button and it ignites.

A:  Not sure what the question is.... The igniter I bought works fine. Simple installation. Model 7509 fits many Weber grills.

Q:I replaced the igniter but it clicks but doesn't ignite the propane

                Answer This Question

A:  I did buy one of these kits and installed it in a very old Weber grill. It seems to work fine and does light the propane. I would first make sure the gas is turned on and the knobs on your pit are turned on. Can test this by trying to light the burner manually with long stem lighter. If the manual lighter will not work, and you are sure everything is on, you could have blockage in the line somewhere. Insects or spiders will make home in there sometimes. Use thin wire ( or air compressor) to make sure line is open . If you do get the manual lighter to work, then recheck your installation referring to instructions to make sure kit installed ok and all connections made and kit components in correct position. Good luck with your trouble shooting.

A:  Make certain that the igniter is centered in the hole in the unit, and that it produces a spark. Check that all plug in connections on the igniter are connected properly. Make certain that propane is turned on, and is reaching the grill.

A:  If you have it out and have the wires connected, you should be able to see if it sparks when you click it. If you see the spark then you may have a blocked hole on the burner and it is not allowing the gas to come out. Try using a wire brush and carefully clean the burner.

A:  You have air trapped in your lines what you need to do is 1. shut off your gas on the propane tank close it. 2. open up your burner valves on the grill let it sit for 10 seconds bleeding out the trapped air. 3. Shut off your burner valves. 4. then open the gas on your propane tank. 5. Open the first burner from the closest point to the propane tank and each valve after to the last point you can then ignite your tank

A:  sounds like a defective unit. check to see if its making a spark.if so, contacts not close enough to propane

By answering a few basic questions (they have pictures) you can easily nail down your model and see the parts and part numbers that will work with your grill. Mine was rather old but I had no trouble finding the right part. Hope this helps.

A:  I would try the model 7510, as it worked on my Weber E-310, 3 burner grill that I purchased in 2010, but had 2008 on manual. This model snaps into a round hole that has two slots on the sides. You can check the fit without damaging the part or package, which means it would be easy to return if it did not fit.
