Q:I have a vitreous china toilet purchased here at Home Depot by Glacier Bay. The bottle of Zep says do not use on Enamel. Isn't vitreous china an enamel coating. Is this safe to use on these toilets or will it remove the enamel coating.

A: Not really. The enamel they are referring to is more likely the type used on old style metal cookware and also any enamel paints. The chemical is made from hydrochloride acid, hydrogen peroxide and plant/animal fats and works great on glazed ceramic/glass
