Unexplainrd Plastic Failure
I purchased ten 1 1/2 inch 90 degree elbows made by Dura Plastics. Four of the ten cracked shortly after being glued to pipe. The manufacturer was notified of what appears to be a factory manufacturing problem. No response was made by Dura Plastics. (This product review page was used as Home Depot no longer has a review page for the Dura 1 1/2 inch 90 degree elbows.)

These worked very well for my DIY baby gate project. They connected very easily with no issues and were all consistent in size. They have been holding up for almost a year now with no issues. I did not even use PVC glue so that I could easily disassemble this project and turn it into a DIY soccer goal net when my kid outgrows the need for a baby gate. This product met my expectations. Ok quality however I've noticed that these smaller Charlotte Sch 40 fittings(1", 3/4", 1/2") are quite minimalistic in length and some have shorter hub lengths than the industry standard. These 1" 90° elbows are an example of this. In their quest to budget engineer their products to use the least amount of plastic in each fitting as possible to increase corporate profits they are starting to noticeably make a less desirable pvc fitting than most of their major competitors...
